We find that using a “Walk The Frog” technique and a slow retrieve delivers the most strikes. These lures are so easy to use, you’re sure to catch a lunker. We use SnagProof Frogs with a minimum 30 lb. braided line, since we are fishing in the thickest of weeds. We’ll alternate our retrieves, starting first by using a “Walk the Frog” (“Walk the Dog”) technique with a fast retrieve. For our Bass Pro XPS Crank Bait, we vary our retrieve speed depending on the depth of the area we are fishing. The Crank Bait dives deeper the faster the retrieve, we select a retrieve speed that will keep the lure about a foot off the bottom.
